Dhirubhai Ambani

I keep reading about dhirubhai ambani's success stories & every time i read i get inspired by reading his achievements. So, t blog is dedicated to the real life hero "Dhirubhai Ambani".

DhiruBhai Ambani built India's largest private sector company. Created an equity cult in the Indian capital market. Reliance is the first Indian company to feature in Forbes 500 list

Dhirubhai Ambani was the most enterprising Indian entrepreneur. His life journey is reminiscent of the rags to riches story. He is remembered as the one who rewrote Indian corporate history and built a truly global corporate group.

Dhirubhai Ambani alias Dhirajlal Hirachand Ambani was born on December 28, 1932, at Chorwad, Gujarat, into a Modh family. His father was a school teacher. Dhirubhai Ambani started his entrepreneurial career by selling "bhajias" to pilgrims in Mount Girnar over the weekends.

After doing his matriculation at the age of 16, Dhirubhai moved to Aden, Yemen. He worked there as a gas-station attendant, and as a clerk in an oil company. He returned to India in 1958 with Rs 50,000 and set up a textile trading company.

Assisted by his two sons, Mukesh and Anil, Dhiru Bhai Ambani built India's largest private sector company, Reliance India Limited, from a scratch. Over time his business has diversified into a core specialisation in petrochemicals with additional interests in telecommunications, information technology, energy, power, retail, textiles, infrastructure services, capital markets, and logistics.

Dhirubhai Ambani is credited with shaping India's equity culture, attracting millions of retail investors in a market till then dominated by financial institutions. Dhirubhai revolutionised capital markets. From nothing, he generated billions of rupees in wealth for those who put their trust in his companies. His efforts helped create an 'equity cult' in the Indian capital market. With innovative instruments like the convertible debenture, Reliance quickly became a favorite of the stock market in the 1980s.

In 1992, Reliance became the first Indian company to raise money in global markets, its high credit-taking in international markets limited only by India's sovereign rating. Reliance also became the first Indian company to feature in Forbes 500 list.

Dhirubhai Ambani was named the Indian Entrepreneur of the 20th Century by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). A poll conducted by The Times of India in 2000 voted him "greatest creator of wealth in the century".

Dhirubhai Ambani died on July 6, 2002, at Mumbai.

Get Clients, Keep Clients

Business relationships mirror personal relationships. You become friendly with people you share interests with. You begin to know a person better as the relationship grows. If you LIKE and TRUST that person, the relationship will continue and deepen. If you grow to dislike or distrust that person, the relationship will usually sour and deteriorate. In your business and personal life, the growth and deterioration of relationships are based on the same three elements.

The three required elements to build any relationship are- Know, Like and Trust. I call it as the "Know, Like and Trust Factor." This is a simple concept to understand and becomes even simpler if you consistently implement it.

Many business professionals look at marketing completely on the surface. If your business tends to market by simply advertising, exchanging business cards or flyers, it simply shows the necessity of few key ingredients.

In marketing when you focus more on building relationships, you are taking the first step towards building your potential clients by making them know, like, and trust you. People want to do business with those whom they know, like, and trust.

Getting To Know You

For potential clients to know your existence, you need to market. Selling is not marketing. Let potential clients know how you can help them. You can show potential clients what your value is by offering it in various forms like writing newsletters, giving talks to different crowd, networking, writing articles and blogs .

You have to cater your potential clients personally, face to face to help them know you better. The first step is to make them KNOW your existence. This can happen when you do marketing by offering value, NOT JUST BY SELLING. You can do marketing online by creating a mailing list, social networking, article marketing, press releases, blogging, etc. Offline you can do things like networking or public speaking. Potential clients will take advantage of these services. If you create good services with great value and content, your marketing (company brand) becomes viral. People will now seek to learn more about your services.

Getting To Like You

Who wants to deal with someone they don't like! It is rare to find someone so good at his or her trade that he or she can be unpleasant and still get work. The worst part about being unpleasant to a client is that word will spread like wildfire. People love to tell friends about bad experiences.

Once potential clients feel good about your service, they will be your marketing executives for your product. But you just need to give them the opportunity to like you. Clients have a lot of choices today. They can easily find someone else to work with. Make sure that you are at people’s sight and mind by following them up, by keeping up to your words and doing the best job you can. As soon as you have first contact with a potential client, keep reaching out. Share information that helps them. Touch base, check in, and refer them. Keep showing your value to clients. Your relationship will grow and the like will grow.

Getting To Trust You

Trust is the final factor & trust is gathered by doing what you say. Trust is built by giving. So give your client values and support. Give them satisfactory services Trust is also earned by social proof such as referrals and testimonials. Keeping your word should be simple. Don't over promise anything. Meet deadlines and stay in contact. Be responsive to client needs. Put yourself in the client's shoes and treat them like you want to be treated. Once the client trusts you, he will be willing to pay you for your services or products. They will feel comfortable putting their needs in your hands. Trust is the factor that will gather clients for you. Trust is a powerful tool for getting clients and keeping clients.

This blog is my observations & learning which i got from my mentor & my colleagues in last few days while working.

"Marketing Is Life"

I am sure by looking at the title you would be thinking life has lot of meanings & we relate life to lot of things but how can marketing be equal to life??

At every point in our lives we need to market ourselves. When we are born we market ourselves by crying that we have arrived into the market (world). Then when we start growing up we always market ourselves to our parents by crying or doing anything possible so that they get convinced & get us nice toys to play with. Then when we start going to school we start marketing ourselves to get good friends by wearing good dresses, getting good things to eat, by joking, sharing things etc. We start marketing ourselves to our teachers by getting good marks or participating in every event & doing lot of other things which catches the eyes of our teachers. Then when we start going to college we still do the same things to market ourselves to our friends, teachers etc. because we always try to prove that you are the best among the rest.

It doesn't stop there we also start marketing ourselves so that we get a nice partner [boyfriend / girlfriend]. Then when our education gets over we know now we need to grow big in lives then we start marketing ourselves to get jobs or start business & still try to prove that we are the best from the rest. We keep marketing in ourselves to our boss or superior that we are the best so that we get promotions & also we keep marketing ourselves in business that we get good clients. Then we again market or our parents market us so that we get a nice life partner to settle in life.

The marketing process doesn't end there we still keep marketing ourselves so that our future generation can stay happy by working hard. Then once we grow old we still keep marketing that our kids should take care of us really well by helping them in every small work possible.

I know this blog might sound funny but if we observe in every step of our lives we keep marketing because there is hyper competition & if we don't do it someone else will go forward & we might not get the opportunity to get the things what we need.

So if you think that marketing is very important for the big business houses & not so important for small business so let me tell you the big business houses were small someday they took the opportunity from the time they were infant thats why they have made it big.

Bottom line marketing is required in every walk of life. As we say "life is a war it takes life time to win it" in the same way "Marketing takes a day to learn. Unfortunately it takes a lifetime to master it"

I am feeling on top of the world!

Good Morning friends,

Long time since i blogged. But then I was busy creating a story which can be worth pouring down here for my readers.

So here I stand today with a story to share with you all. How does it feel to be away from home, on a mission of accomplishing a target that you have taken, and you know you have no way of returning back with a failure. I stood at a position in my life, when much of my life, showed me a failure.

But today in my business seminar I touched a state of gathering which I always envisioned, it crossed 3 digits! It was a dream come true when I saw myself being invited under party bombs and those color papers falling on me. Felt first time those papers had life and they had feeling in them.

May be it was not them which changed, but instead the person underneath them had changed.

I realise today - A change in you changes the way you see the same thing around you!

Anyways, much of the other part of the story in my next blog!

Wish me luck, I would want to come back soon to write my next post, revealing every part of my fight which is taking me to my flight in my life, like a kite and bringing me under limelight!!!

THANK YOU!

Not expecting any comments as of now, but next post your inner self would push you to comment!
