I'm glad to share about my Mentor, my Guru, my Friend,an Indian, more than anything else a genuine human-being who is representing our country(India) and is already among TOP-111 of the world in YOUR BIG YEAR(YBY) Global competition !! Here is a small insight about what is YBY and why Sujit Lalwani?
What is YBY ?
With 60,000 applicants from 221 countries (that’s more countries participating with us than the Olympics and the UN), Smaller Earth has built an inspiring competition to positively impact the world.
Through a series of tasks with themes of entrepreneurship and global citizenship, applicants will compete to win the grand prize, a year-long trip to 5 continents meeting community and world leaders. Your Big Year is a featured event of Global Entrepreneurship Week, which is endorsed by world leaders including President Obama and former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
On November 11, 2011 (11/11/11), Smaller Earth announced 111 finalists who are currently working on 3 tasks for judgment. From these 111, Smaller Earth will choose 12 dedicated and inspirational people to be flown to Liverpool for the Global Entrepreneurship Congress in March 2012, where they will compete in “The Apprentice” style challenges. The ultimate winner of the grand prize will be announced on March 18 at the closing dinner for the Global Entrepreneurship Congress in Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedra
The Prize
Out of 60,000+ entries, there will be 12 finalists, announced on Jan 12, 2012, who will all be flown to the UK from March 8-17, 2012, to compete in a series of tasks for the Global Entrepreneurship Congress week (http://www.unleashingideas.org/) in Liverpool.
THE GRAND PRIZE is a year-long expense paid trip to five continents. The trip will include a diverse selection of Smaller Earth international volunteer projects and meetings with both community and world leaders.
(Few countries that last year Ambassador visited were- UK, Hungary, Romania, Switzerland, Thailand, China, Malaysia, India, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Peru, Colombia, Guatemala, the United States, Canada, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Mozambique, South Africa and Liberia. On their journey, Carielle and Michael have also met luminaries like His Grace The Duke of Westminster, Sir Terry Leahy (former CEO of TESCO), Tony Fernandes (CEO of Air Asia and Formula 1 Lotus owner) and Jamie Oliver (superstar chef). They have also met many other business people and politicians.)
